Milepost 5
Milepost 5 is an adaptive re-use project currently under construction in Portland. As acting developer, Beam has partnered with the Portland Affordable Housing Preservation Trust to redevelop the old Baptist Manor retirement community into an Artists’ live/work community development. Designed by Works Partnership Architecture, Milepost 5 currently has 40,000 SF of live/work loft condominiums for artists. Re-use highlights include seismic upgrading, construction of an additional penthouse floor and replacing existing infrastructure.
The adaptive re-use of the historic structure will also provide 95 rental apartments for artists, gallery and exhibition space, studio space and a restaurant. This structure will also be placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
